Family Name: The surname 侯 (Hóu) originates from ancient Chinese nobility, specifically from the second rank of the five feudal titles. It is believed to have descended from the Zhou Dynasty's King Wu, who granted his brother Shuyu the territory of Tang, and some of Shuyu's descendants adopted the surname 侯. Alternatively, it is also traced back to the Xia Dynasty's Hougang clan, which later simplified to 侯.
